Training:
Our Millwrights have years of experience and training in all aspects of their Trade. They understand that training is the key to their future and you know well-trained workers are the safest and most productive work force. Apprentices spend up to four years in The Department of Labor-Certified Classroom Training and by also working alongside skilled mechanics; they become Journeyman and thereafter master of their Trade. Journeyman Millwrights are also committed to continued education throughout their career. Our Millwrights want to learn new skills to remain competitive, keep their edge, become more productive and help their employers stay profitable.
With safety on the move we provide a wide range of classes customized to our industry. Our Millwrights understand that education is more than career training-It is the essential framework for success. That’s why we have a variety of unique and specialized programs, developed in partnership with major manufacturers, to help you meet your goals and our Millwrights reach their true potential.
We have a 36,000 sq. ft. training center, located in Arlington, Texas, with a variety of specialized classes and workshops, so you can be assured that professional Millwrights are available for your next project to guarantee a quality product and cost effective end results. We also have a state of the art Training Center located in Las Vegas, Nevada. There, our experienced instructors learn up to date training methods and Millwrights are sent for 40-hours of classroom and hands on Gas-Turbine training.
Our Millwrights are problem solvers. They accept any challenge and approach every project with the highest of competence and training. Because of this comprehensive and ongoing training, Millwright Local #1421 has hundreds of professionals who can be at your service, giving you the best in the business any time and every time.

Want to become a Millwright? Most Millwrights have earned their Journeyman Qualification through our Apprenticeship Program. The length of the Apprenticeship Program is up to four years. An Apprentice is someone who is learning our Trade through the Apprenticeship Training Program and while working under the guidance of skilled Journeyman. They normally start by helping Journeyman with basic tasks like material handling and move into more sophisticated jobs, as their knowledge and skills increase. Quite often our Millwrights are required to work split shifts, overtime, including weekends, and travel long distances for work. Millwrights work with a variety of hand and portable power tools and frequently cut, join and fasten metal construction materials using welding equipment and oxy-acetylene torches. Millwright Training is available to you, to get started, call or visit our Local Millwright Union or the North Texas Training Center and ask for further information.
